German armaments manufacturer Rheinmetall is is pitching successor to the highly successful Leopard 2 tank.
It's chassis is largely based on the existing tank, but it has a new turret, with a 130mm gun, an autoloader, an active protection system, and a problematic name.
You see, they want to call it the Panther, which if you know your history, was arguably the finest Nazi tank of WWII.
That being said, I can see how they find the need to go with a larger gun. The Russian Armata tank can use a longer, and thus more powerful, 125mm round than its predecessor.
But still, the Panther? Seriously, you could have called it literally ANYTHING else. (OK, not the Tiger)
