I cannot believe that I am quoting Matthew Yglesias non-ironically.
Either he has matured over the past decade, (possible) the situation is so outrageous that even he gets it, (more likely) or he has had a stopped clock moment. (most likely)
The point though is correct: The people supporting the Afghan war are overwhelmingly those who personally benefit from its continuation.
