Not good news, initial claims rose by 8,000 to 237,000, more than the forecast of 230,000, while continuing claims were largely unchanged.
Meanwhile, we have ADP's private report on job growth, which showed just 54,000 jobs in August, well under what is needed to account for natural growth in the job market.
The federal report comes out tomorrow, and following the replacement of the head BLS statistician with a Trump toady, I trust ADP more.
