Specifically the 1938 German Weapons Act (Waffengesetz) of 1938.

For you history buffs, that law relaxed restrictions on gun ownership for the general population, but banned the possession of any sort of weapons by Jews. 

The Trump DoJ is looking at banning transgender people from owning firearms.

No, this is not a joke.  This is real.

People who have been involuntarily committed are prohibited from owning firearms, and the DoJ is thinking about defining being trans as a mental illness severe enough to justify taking their guns under existing law.

As the parent of a non-binary child, fuck them all. (And no, I do not want them to own a firearm, but they should damn well have the same rights as other Americans to own one.

Senior Justice Department officials have held multiple meetings since last week’s deadly Minneapolis Catholic school shooting to consider banning transgender people from owning firearms, according to two people familiar with the discussions.

The talks — described as in the early stages by the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private deliberations — began after a 23-year-old transgender person allegedly carried out the Aug. 27 shooting that killed two children and injured 17 others during a Mass at Annunciation Catholic School.

One of the people familiar with the discussions, which included officials in the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel and Office of the Attorney General, said they were considering whether being transgender is a mental illness that could, under existing firearm regulations, disqualify someone from possessing a firearm.

 These are people who exist only to hate.
