Looks Like We Won't have Vito Fossella to Kick Around Any More

It appears that he will end his reelection bid.

If you recall, Fossella was busted for driving drunk. At the time he was driving from his home to his mistress's, who had also born him a child.

I guess that we'll be hearing a comment that he wants to spend more time with his families.....heh.

It's Definitely the Weird Season

You may recall Vito Fossella, who dropped out of his race for reelection after he was busted for driving drunk from his wife to his mistress, both of whom have borne him children.

Well, the Republicans selected Francis H. Powers, whose son Francis M. Powers was running against him on the Libertarian ticket.

And then Francis H. Powers died.

Well, it now looks like Vito Fossella is considering re-entering the race.

The political gods are smoking some serious dope in Staten Island.

My Apologies, There is a Schadenfreude Shortage, and I Haven't Mentioned This

I really should be writing about the travails of New York Republican congressman Vito Fossella, following his arrest for drunk driving while on the way to his mistress, with whom he had fathered a child.

The sane* Republicans in New York, are calling for his resignation, but congressman Peter King, showing that he's firmly in the nutzo category, is blasting them for, "Putting a knife in the back of a good guy who's made a mistake."

Actually, it's at least two mistakes...heh.

It gets better, because it appears that not only is Vito not resigning, it looks like he has decided to stay in the race for reelection.

*Well, relatively sane...they are Republithugs.

Wanker of the Day

Brit Hume, who suggests the reason that a sports figure whom I will not name is cheating on his wife is because he's a Buddhist, unlike those good, Chri$tian, right wing Republithugs like Larry Craig, Jojn Ensign, David Vitter, Newt Gingrich, David Livingston, Mark Sanford, Vito Fossella, etc.

So both he's a moron and a bigot, which explains his success at Fox News.

[on edit] It appears that Atrios agrees.

Here is the interesting part. There are no races taht they are targeting in the South.

Those Florida districts don't count. They are South Florida, which is the "non-southern" part of the state. It's where liberals come from in Florida.

This is an acknowledgment of a fact: there is very little of value in the south that has not already been taken.

What's left is an electorate which is either 80%+ Democratic/Minority gerrymanders, and the Apartheid whites that still exist.

The former already had Democratic representatives, and the latter will never vote for anyone who allows N***ers to vote.

The Democratic party needs to stop distorting its message in an attempt to win the south, and this is a good start.

Updates on Various Races

Rasmussen Reports™: has Norm Coleman at 48% and Al Franken 45%, and it is not good for an incumbent to be below 50%. This will be winnable, even with the phony scandals drummed up by Coleman's bully boys.

The race for Fossella's seat in Staten Island is a tossup, though it has historically been a fairly solid Republican district.

Rasmussen Reports™ has Liddy Dole with a 14-Point Lead Over Kay Hagan, 53%-39%. The last poll had Hagan up by 1 point, immediately after she won the primary, but Dole has been running ads, and Hagan has not.

This is Not the Onion

The Staten Island Republican Executive Committee has backed drunk-driving bigamist and former Congressman Vito Fossella to run again for in the 13th district. (see also here)

The County committee still has the final call on this, but he is now the front runner.

If The Daily Show ain't on this like white on rice, Then they are way off their game.
