I’m wondering if the Trump regime thought through pissing off Canada, including renaming a lake that honors not just the province of Ontario but also the First Nations people who lived there and named it. But there’s the little matter of navigation on the Great Lakes, including the St. Lawrence Seaway and the Welland Canal, which is the only way ships can travel between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. The canal is in Ontario and wholly operated by Canada, and no ship can pass through it and the eight locks without permission of Canada. In other words, Canada has their own Strait of Hormuz.
