Thursday Jobs Dump

So it is another weekly unemployment report, and Initial Claims rose by 2000 to 207,000, basically flat, while continuing claims fell by 1,000 to 1.664 million, also basically flat.  (The less volatile 4-week moving average was flat as well)

Two others indicator fell significantly, though people can differ on whether this is good or bad news on the 2nd one.

The first was that layoffs were down from August, which is good news if you are neither a Chicago School Economist or a psychopath.  (But I repeat myself)

The 2nd one is the trade deficit, which fell by 9.9% to $58.3 billion.  I think that this is an indication of falling demand (bad) but some folks would see a falling trade deficit as an good thing.

Once again: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
