I am referring to Raquel Welch, who died today at age 82.
The movie in question was called Crossed Swords, in the US at least, and it was a rather uninspiring retelling of the Prince and the Pauper story with a rather impressive cast.
I went because the Radio City Music Hall was in financial straits, and it was rumored that they would shut down after the movie showing, and I was visiting my Grandmother in New York.
I've seen her movies on TV, and she did a very good job in The Three Musketeers with Michael York, which I saw in a far less memorable theater.
One of the things that I observed in some of her movies, and in a lot of her TV appearances, was that she had some very well developed, and criminally underused, comedic chops.
Just in case you are wondering, I am not posting a publicity still from One Million Years B.C. She was more than that.
