Lawyers File Ethics Complaint Against Monica Goodling

They have drafted a letter asking the Virgina Bar to investigate former DoJ lawyer Monica Goodling, which is about the only way that anything close to justice will happen, since Michael "Bush's Bitch" Mukasey has refused to prosecute clear violations of the law.

By way of background, Regent University, Monica Goodling's alma mater, was founded by Pat Robertson as CBN (Christian Broadcast Network) University, and while its graduates seem to be good enough to run the DoJ and fire US Attorneys, it's not good enough to cover GWB's alcoholic ass.

The Post reports that President Bush is beefing up his besieged White House legal team with some crack lawyers to defend the administration against a variety of congressional inquiries. As the Post's Peter Baker notes, all eight [of the newly-hired attorneys] received degrees from Ivy League schools or from West Point.

So, when it comes to policy-making over at the so-called Justice Department, a Regent University law degree, like the one held by Monica 'I may have crossed the line' Goodling and a battalion of other fundies, suffices. But when it comes to protecting the president's backside, apparently a divine legal degree is no substitute for an East Coast elite Ivy School pedigree.

Department of Justice Broke Law on Hiring

Representatives of Bush and His Evil Minions^™ at the Justice Department routinely broke the law in the hiring of career lawyers.

In particular Monica Goodling and Kyle Sampson aggressively selected on the basis of partisan affiliation.

Bush's butt boy at the DoJ, Michael Mukasey, released a statement that he is, "disturbed" by these developments, but I see no suggestion of actual prosecution.

There can be no greater threat to the nation than when political partisanship is used to corrupt the administration of justice.

Monica Goodling Thought that Partisan Politics Trumped Anti-Terror Efforts

Which is she passed over an experienced counterterrorism prosecutor because his wife was a Democrat.

Michael Mukasey is a Completely Corrupt Bastard

The US Civil Service was created because a disgruntled federal job seeker shot a president (Garfield), but in the matter of Bush Administration Minions using political appointees, Michael Mukasey won't pursue any charges.

He says that it is just a "civil" violation, not a "criminal" one.

That is crap. They committed criminal conspiracy, just as surely as the thousands of wives and girlfriends who are in jail now because their guy dealt dope, and they took a phone message or two.

He will not prosecute because there is a real chance that folks like Monica Goodling and Kyle Sampson might flip on folks higher up, and work their way up the chain, to the White House.

He won't because if he did, some of the people would flip on higher ups. Thanks a lot, Charles Schumer, for vouching for this bit of human excrement.
