I am referring, of course, to former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has announced that she will not be seeking reelection in 2026.
While a frequent target of Republicans for her alleged radical left wing view, by the political standards of the Bay Area, the only space to her political right was perhaps Dan White. ⃰
She got her political start funs raising from from big money political donors, was consistantly on the side of real estate developers, and she assiduously cleared the field for right wing corporate Democratic candidates in even the safest blue districts.
She is the very apotheosis of the feckless, timid, corrupt, and geriatric leadership of the Democratic Party establishment (There is no Democratic Party establishment).
As to the insider trading, one does have to wonder what sort of ethical lapses led to her ending up with a ¼ billion stock portfolio today.
It's all probably legal, but the ethics here are problematic.
