6 More Years of Susan Collins

With the Democratic Party polling at historical lows among Democrats, because people are sick and tired of its incompetent geriatric leadership.

So, what does the geriatric Democratic Party establishment (There is no Democratic Party establishment) decide to do?

Well, they are attempting to anoint 78-year-old "centrist" Janet Mills as their Senate nominee to run against Susan Collins.

I'm sure that that the Democratic Party establishment (There is no Democratic Party establishment) will publicly claim that the leading candidate for the Senate nomination before the announcement, harbormaster and oyster farmer Graham Platner, could not beat Susan Collins in the general election.

That's not their real concern, they are worried that Platner could win. He raised over a million dollars in less than 2 weeks from his announcement, and every real Democrat who gets elected to the Senate makes it harder for the do nothing Democratic Senators to do nothing.

………

Ms. Mills, who is term-limited, had been heavily recruited for months by Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, the Democratic leader, who was eager to find a proven winner to take on Ms. Collins. Ms. Collins, 72, is a rare Republican to survive in recent years in a Democratic-leaning state and is seeking her sixth term.

Ahhh yes.  We should absolutely rely on the political acumen of Charles Ellis Schumer, just as we should rely on the honesty of Donald Trump, the probity of Tom "$50,000 bag of cash" Holman, or the likability of Mitch McConnell.

Have I mentioned that the US Senate is dominated even more by seniority than the House?

Even if she would be a good Senator, she would be an ineffective one in her first term, and at the start of a potential second term, she would be 85 years old.
