Damn

Peter Schickele, whose career as a composer spanned many genre, has died at the age of 88.

He is best known for his satirical creation PDQ Bach, whom he billed as the oddest of JS Bach's 20-odd children, but he was a talented composer who wrote symphonies, movie scores, and musicals.

He will be missed

I saw him perform quite a few times in New York when I was young, because my dad was a huge fan and he made me one. His LP "The Stoned Guest" is simply brilliant and should not be missed. I always wished I could have seen that opera performed live.
