I Am Not a Military Tactician

While I do claim some knowledge regarding weapons systems and related technology as well as the vicissitudes of US defense contracting, I've spent much of the past 40 years working for the US Military—Industrial complex, I have never made much of a study of the actual conduct of war.

As such, I know that there is an offensive being conducted by the Ukrainian armed forces, but I keep coming across conflicting claims.

It is reasonable to assume that the Ukrainians are attempting something close to the NATO tactics, NATO training has been widely reported, I also think that Russia is probably looking at Kursk as a model for dealing with the Ukrainian offensive, because that offensive has been telegraphed for weeks.

I have no clue as to how this will all end up. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Twitter has all you need to know. NATO tactics don't work if you don't have air supremacy....

I've seen representations on both side. My guess is that you are right, but I lack the expertise to evaluate the conflicting claims.
