The former Republican Senate leader has died of complications of lung cancer.
A lot of people have expressed some fondness for him, but I recall his total nastiness as President Fraud's VP pick in the 1976 Presidential campaign, and that view has not changed.
To quote Reason magazine, in the best headline that they ever wrote, (I know, low bar) I always saw him as, "Nixon without the charm."
