While ethics are not in abundant supply in internet firms, social media, and advertising tech, it is in increasingly obvious that the only competitive advantage that Facebook has is its willingness do do evil.
Just a few days ago, we were reading about how Facebook is aggressively grooming preteens, and today we learn that they don't give a f%$# about reliability.
Without its sociopathy, Facebook would be ……… well ……… Myspace.
That's why when they mistakenly deleted their BGP records, which, because one of the most heavily trafficked website in the world had no redundant servers, took down their entire network for 6-8 hours today.
