Gripen NG is a Go

The Swedish Air Force has ordered 60 of the new Gripens, (paid subscription required) with the first to be delivered in 2018.

It will be interesting to see how it plays in the world market.

It's light weight and low operational costs, along with Saab's decision to partition between mission systems and flight-critical functions, which should simplify upgrades, should make it attractive to budget conscious nations.
