Why Patenting Genes is a Bad Idea
The first reason is that patents are for inventions, not discoveries, but the second reason is because we are allowing private firms to blackmail all of society for something that they did not do.
Patenting species and genes is a development in IP law that needs to be reversed, or billions will face malnutrition as a result.
