In the New York Times obituary for James Caan, who died at age 82, they made no mention of his work with Mandy Patinkin on Rockne O'Bannon's amazing SF/Cop Buddy film.
Wonderful performances from Caan and Patinkin for the leads, and Terrence Stamp is marvelously evil as their nemisis.
This is a major omission.
In any case, this man was one hell of an actor, and if you want to sample his work, apart from the obvious (The Godfather), I would also recommend Alien Nation, and Rollerball, which seemed a bit far fetched when it came out in 1975, but seems prophetic now.
